About
Dana Jalobeanu is lecturer in philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Bucharest and director of programs at the research center Foundations of Early Modern Thought, University of Bucharest. She has studied Physics and Philosophy, has a MS in Theoretical Physics and a PhD in history and philosophy of science (from University of Bucharest).
She currently teaches a number of courses in history and philosophy of science at the BA and MA level. She is developing a number of research projects and grants through the Research center in History and Philosophy of Science, CELFIS, the research center Foundations of Early Modern Thought and New Europe College, Bucharest. She is the Romanian coordinator of a joint ERC grant run through Warburg Institute (London) and New Europe College (Bucharest).
Her research interests cover theories of matter in seventeenth century, the place of natural philosophy among early modern disciplines, the experimental philosophy from Bacon to Newton.
She has studied at Babes Bolyai University, Cluj (Physics, Philosophy, BA, MA), University of Bucharest (PhD), Oxford University. Scholarships at Warburg Institute, London (2006) and New Europe College, Bucharest (2008, 2006, 1998-1999). Visiting scholar at Warburg Institute (2008, 2009) and Princeton University (2009).
